I convinced my fiancee, Shannon, to start reading David Allen’s “Getting Things Done” and I am very excited about it. She read the introduction and the first chapter and I could hear her laughing as she did.
I asked Shannon what she was laughing about and she told me she was enjoying the book. David Allen is able to use real world examples and humor to help the reader understand why we are so stressed out in our day to day lives.
Shannon is impressed with the book and I am thrilled because now we will be able to speak the same language. She will understand what I have been doing the last 8 months with GTD and trying to get organized and she may adopt the methodology. I will be glad to help her on her journey if she decides to make the change to her life like I did.
I will be crossing my fingers. If you haven’t read “Getting Things Done” you should give it a try. No, I am not getting paid to say this.

I have been using Microsoft Windows since Windows 98. I learned how to use the whole Macromedia suite on a Windows machine and did not know until about a year ago that most designers prefer using a Mac over a PC. I did get a MacBook Pro but I didn’t necessarily jump on the Mac bandwagon because everyone else was doing it. I love Windows. I am comfortable on Windows. I know practically everything there is to know about Windows and I have learned practically every keyboard shortcut on a Windows machine and took a lot of pride in that. I also fell in love with Vista and bought an HP desktop (Model: m7750n HP with the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+ 2.60Ghz and 2GB of RAM). It is a wonderful machine. So why did I switch? Why am I a Mac guy now?
Well…I never thought I would ever make the switch. I felt Macs were overpriced and I just didn’t see a benefit in getting a Mac. That is until I had no choice but to learn how to use one.
When I was applying to work as a web designer I noticed most design firms had Mac environments. I knew I needed to learn how to use a Mac if I wanted to work in design. Luckily for me, a friend had a G4 he sold to me for only $100. (Thanks Jordi!) I took the machine home and plugged it in and had my first mesmerizing experience with OSX. Wow! What eye candy! Woot! So I immediately fell in love with the interface. I loved the customization options and loved how easy it was to use.
I got hired at 1105 Media, Inc. and met some wonderful web designers who each own a MacBook Pro. When I saw that they were running Windows XP using Parallels I was sold. I knew I had to get a Mac. I felt like running to the store that day.
Tomorrow will be 2 weeks that I have owned a MacBook Pro and I must say it has been a wonderful experience. There are so many benefits to having a Mac. I will get into more detail later.
I love this blogging stuff. It is fun.

Hello. Let me introduce myself. My name is Rodrigo Munoz (a.k.a. The Hot Rod). I am almost 30 years old but feel a lot younger than that. My passion is design in all of its forms. Currently, I work for 1105 Media in Chatsworth, CA and I recently switched from a PC to a Mac. I am a fan of web standards and GTD.
I know this was not much of an introduction but you will get to know me as I keep posting. (I promise). Well, it took me a few hours to get WordPress installed because I could not find the right theme. I will change it as soon as I find another one. This one will suit my needs for now. I have to say that I am quite impressed with WordPress. If you plan on doing some blogging I highly recommend it.
